Those are the same elements of a mission statement. So much so that a basic patrol mission in Afghanistan was referred to as a 5W.

it really covers the basic information. I think it's a great starting point for a story (or as you note, a strategy) of any kind.

Good reminders. Right now, I am curious about how our family histories (way back, generations before we were born) have influenced our lives in the present. What was the same for them, and what, besides the obvious, was different. What can we learn from the dead? This is informing the short story (10,000-15,000 words) I am writing as a free giveaway to promote my upcoming novels.

Love this! I just about "why"-d my parents to death when I was little. Permission to be curious accepted!!

This is brilliant. So true. As I’m approaching the final stretch of writing my book, I’m doing so much review to make sure that I’m prompting my readers through questions… And encouraging their own curiosity. What I’ve loved about writing this book is what I have personally learned while researching! I’ve had many ah-ha moments. My thoughts have been affirmed, sometimes changed and always expanded.

I will be sharing your words with friends who write.
