I’ve posted here a lot about the value of writers conferences. Not long ago, I talked to a client who was trying to determine her next step. I recommended that she attend a conference. I suggested she bring a one-sheet (one page summary) for her book, and talk to agents and editors.
At that conference, she found an agent, and has the interest of two publishers. Definitely a worthwhile investment of her time and money.
If you are wondering what your next step is as a writer, a conference is the answer.
My favorite conference by far is the West Coast Christian Writers Conference, which will be held this November near Sacramento, CA. This is an encouraging, supportive weekend where you can:
Learn about the publishing industry
Improve your writing skills
Get positive, helpful feedback on your writing
Pitch your book idea to an editor or agent
Meet and connect with other writers (this one is huge, friends. You need a writing community!)
(Full disclosure, I’m on the board and faculty for this conference.)
Attending a conference requires an investment of time and money—but it’s worth it! The good news is, I’ve got a discount code for you. Just use my last name, KENT, when you register. Click the button below to learn more about the conference and register today to get early bird pricing.
The conference will be held Nov. 7-8 in Roseville CA, just outside of Sacramento. If you don’t live on the west coast or don’t want to travel, more good news! West Coast Christian Writers is a hybrid conference which means you can attend it virtually and save $100. Add my coupon code (KENT) to save even more!
I’m sure you have questions about the conference. Leave a comment below with your question! Or, tell us about your writers conferences experiences.
