When the universe speaks, it's usually a good idea to listen. Often we aren't paying attention. The universe will repeat itself, often louder and sometimes in ways that we find unhelpful in the moment. I'm trying to get better at listening to the whispers.
Fred, I love this. When those "unhelpful" repetitions happen, we often ask "Why is this happening?" and if we can stop and reflect, we'll realize we know why. Because we didn't listen to begin with! May we all get better at listening to the whispers.
A walk up a pretty trail or through a historic neighborhood, a picnic by a rushing creek, even an evening spent doing nothing but cheering at a minor league baseball game. Those things do it for me. So anxious to be past the deadlines of this build--supposed to hit the road in TWO DAYS--so we can rediscover the things that refresh us.
Much needed word! The same advice applies to those in pastoral ministry. It's difficult to give out of an empty vessel.
Agree, Frank! Thanks for your comment. I'd say the principles of self-care also help parents, folks in ministry, and more!

There is an old saying in ultrarunning. The lessons will be repeated until they are learned.

I thought you were already on the road, Sherry! Hope all the last minute details come together!
